This is another piece of the soundtrack from my favorite Chinese TV drama, "Return of the Condor Heroes 2006". I have written a short post on it here.
And of course... here's the lyrics in Chinese and Pinyin as well as the English translations:
Jiang Hu Xiao (江湖笑)
by Emil Zhou Hua Jian
Jiang hu xiao en yuan liao ren guo zhao xiao cang dao
The martial arts world laughs, kindness and hatred ended. People exchange blows, smiles hidden by blades.
Hong chen xiao xiao ji liao xin tai gao dao bu liao
The mortal world laughs; a lonely laugh. The heart is too high, it can't be reach.
Ming yue zhao lu tiao tiao ren hui lao xin bu lao
The moon shines brightly, the road is far. People grow old, the heart doesn't.
Ai bu dao fang bu diao wang bu liao ni de hao
Cannot love, cannot let go. Cannot forget your goodness.
Kan si hua fei hua wu fei wu
A flower.. yet not, a mist.. yet not
Tao tao jiang shui liu bu zhu
The surging river current can't be stopped.
Yi shen hao qing zhuang zhi tie ao gu
Full of righteousness, aspiration and iron character.
Yuan lai ying xiong shi gu du
A genuine hero is lonely.
Jiang hu xiao ai xiao yao qin huo xiao jiu lai dao
The martial arts world laughs, love is carefree. Qin and Xiao come pour the wine.
Yang tian xiao quan wang liao xiao sa ru feng qing piao piao
Smile facing the sky and forget everything. Be light as a breeze, so buoyant.
Happy listening :D
[this is good] Thanks so much for contributing! :)
I'm loving these Chinese epics - 40 episodes for this one, huh?? There are a lot of people that want to learn more about Asian culture, and this is a win-win situation, isn't it? Making bonds of understanding and friendship around the world...
So, you speak Cantonese, but not Mandarin? I just assumed that expat Chinese (ethnic Chinese) spoke Mandarin... Shows you how much I know!! ^^ That could be handy though... Others get a little "pissed" at me when I send them a Cpop song in the "wrong" language! hehe

You are most welcome anytime Mikey.
I love the way you think about the win-win situation and about making bonds with people of other cultures. If there are more Mikeys out there in this world... world peace would be so much easier to achieve and maintain.
No worries Mikey, about sending the wrong Cpop song in the wrong language. I don't believe anyone would mind receiving a gift of music, no matter what language it was in... it's the thoughts that counts.

You aren't Chinese but teaches Chinese? Now you've gotten me very curious. Where you from then? Your ethnicity, if you don't mind sharing.
You are most welcome for the share. I am happy that you enjoyed it so thoroughly.

OK.... well this will shock you. I'm from New York City. I was educated in New York State. Now, because of language requirements, I went to Beijing to study Chinese. I'm very much interested in Chinese history. After returning from Beijing, I was offered a scholarship to continue Mandarin language study in Taipei. Well, I worked for TV network and other media outlets. In fact, you may have heard my voice someplace.
It's a shocker for many people to hear me speak Mandarin Chinese as I'm a Black American. If you have iTunes you can hear my Mandarin trainning show ( World Learner Chinese ). You can visit http://www.worldlearnerchinese.com .
Small world we live in to say the least.
Shocked yet?
Hope to talk to you again soon

Woah, you did shocked me. I am amazed too. You are even better than me in Chinese I must say. It might be my mother-tongue and all, but I can't read or write Chinese. The only Chinese dialect I could understand is Cantonese. I am still pretty much struggling with my Mandarin. LOL. I should be ashamed. :D
Been to your site, it's awesome. I could read pinyin a bit, hence I could understand your lessons.
Nice talking to you.
